How to remove and contain Lead Paint in an old building?
There are three ways to handle a Lead Paint problem in a building:
1- Lead Paint Encapsulation:
which is essentially painting over the existing paint to contain the problem and stop Lead paint dust from spreading in the air.
2- Lead Paint Stripping: where the workers scrape the Lead paint off of the walls and repaint them with lead free paint, certain elements like mantels or doors would be stripped down and taken off site to a dip shop where they would be chemically immersed and treated and come back as raw wood and repainted safely.
3- Lead Paint Replacement: where all elements that have lead paint present in them would be completely replaced by new Lead Free window components.
